The people working at Brasswind have each spent years handling movements at the component level. That's not something you can accelerate — it accumulates through repetition across many calibre types, from simple pin-lever quartz to multi-register chronographs and vintage column-wheel mechanisms.
What that depth provides isn't speed — it's recognition. An experienced eye spots a worn pivot or a misaligned pallet stone faster, which means less time diagnosing and more time attending to the actual issue.

Tools & Process
Appropriate Equipment for the Work
Ultrasonic cleaning tanks, watchmaker's lathes for pivot polishing, and timing machines for rate measurement form the core of our process. Equipment is maintained and calibrated regularly — aged or poorly maintained tools introduce variation we'd rather not have.
Lubricants used are calibre-specific where possible — oiling a balance staff pivot with the same weight oil used on a keyless works wheel is a shortcut that shortens service intervals. We use the specifications the calibre was designed around.

Many watch owners tell us they felt left in the dark at other workshops. Watches go in, weeks pass, something comes back that doesn't quite match what was discussed. We've structured our process to prevent that.
The assessment is shared before work starts. If unexpected findings arise mid-service, we contact you before continuing. When the piece is returned, the service record explains what was done and what was found — in plain terms, not technical shorthand.
